So, I’ve been doing this web thing for quite a while now. I’m feeling pretty confident in my work, so I’ve been starting to explore ‘broader’ areas of the development process, among which is productivity.

What started as a passing interest has turned into almost an obsession. After reading up on books like “Getting Things Done”, “Practices of an Agile Programmer”, and “The Pragmatic Programmer”, I’ve been feeling pretty empowered.

I have a feeling this is going to turn into one of those ‘what did I ever do before this’ things, like Firebug or Wikipedia. I just forked out the dough for the wonderful OmniPlan, and already I’m feeling more productive. Being more productive means being more effective, and thus more time to enjoy your work rather than suffering through it.

Which is good, because I’ve come to realize all too quickly that time is the most precious resource we have, and we’re really not being fair to ourselves unless we make the most of it.
